Contractors

Concrete foundations, flatwork, steel and wood frames, finished surfaces, roofs, windows, electric, and plumbing are just a few of the hundreds of major components Contractors are responsible for. However, when it comes to concrete cutting, precision demolition and subsurface imaging, Diamond Concrete Sawing is the one source that contractors trust for professional, worry-free concrete cutting and other allied services, as described below.

Wire Sawing

Wire sawing is used by contractors to cut extremely thick concrete, as an excellent alternative to percussive demolition. The Diamond Concrete Sawing Wire Sawing system enables contractors to make precise cuts in thick concrete structures, without overcuts and without damage to surrounding structures. Water filtration plants, waste water treatment plants, concrete buildings, manufacturing facilities with large press bases, and other industrial facilities with heavy concrete structures are some of the areas where wire sawing is most commonly used. The Diamond Concrete Sawing Wire Sawing system is extremely versatile and can be performed remotely and in the tightest of spaces.

Slab Sawing

General, mechanical, and electrical contractors involved in making improvements to existing buildings and exterior pavement invariably need to cut concrete and asphalt to install new conduit, repair damaged conduit or locate public or private utilities. These contractors also need to cut concrete for removal and replacement and asphalt flatwork to make way for building additions and interior alterations. Concrete cutting with a slab sawing is extremely fast, allowing contractors to create precise openings and trenches with precise edges, allowing for more efficient replacement.

Curb Sawing

Contractors who are making alterations to existing roadways, pedestrian crossings, paved foot paths, and other way-finding concrete or asphalt trails will often need to remove curb head for driveway or pedestrian approaches. The Diamond Concrete Sawing Kot-Kurb curb sawing system provides the greatest economy, allowing the contractor to remove the curb head only and save existing gutter pans. In addition, the Diamond Concrete Sawing Kot-Kurb system can cut the curb head from the front or the back of the curb, providing the contractor with a final product that achieves the desired angle and lip height . Diamond Concrete Sawing will even remove the cut curb head from the site.

Wall Sawing

General, mechanical and electrical contractors involved in making improvements to existing buildings and structures will invariably need to create openings for windows, mechanical chases, louvers, scuppers, elevators, doors, and for many other purposes. Concrete cutting with a wall saw allows contractors to make precise, ready for rough-in, openings in concrete, precast, or masonry structures. Diamond Concrete Sawing combines wall sawing with the use of chainsaws to create perfect corners with no overcuts.

Core Drilling

General, mechanical and electrical contractors rely on the concrete cutting method of core drilling to provide access for electrical conduits, mechanical pipe, and communication lines through existing wall or floor structures. In multi-story construction, new or renovation, thousands of openings can be required. Diamond Concrete Sawing utilizes core drills which can be vacuum or anchor mounted, with auto-feed technology, to maximize productivity. Openings may be drilled from ½” to 54” in diameter. Additionally, Diamond Concrete Sawing is equipped to wire saw perfect openings as large as 10 feet in diameter.

Robotic Demolition

Brokk machines are an excellent solution for general contractors requiring maximum productivity in small, confined spaces. For selective demolition Brokk machines can do the work of four to eight people with 90 pound jackhammers, pulverizing floors or walls—Brokk machines can reach overhead to crush suspended slab without requiring shoring. Brokk machines are exceptionally compact and will climb stairs, ride an elevator, or can be flown into a building with a boom lift. In addition, to allow the operator to work safely out of harm’s way, the units are controlled by wireless remote.

Subsurface Imaging (GPR)

In construction, the ability of general, electrical and mechanical contractors to see what is below the surface can be invaluable. Buried electrical or communication conduit, fiber optics, natural gas and water lines can all be at risk when making improvements to existing structures or soils. Likewise, knowing the position and depth of reinforcing steel, post-tension and pre-stressed cables can be key when cutting or coring through concrete. By using Ground Penetrating Radar — GPR,  to see below the surface, Diamond is able to provide a clear “subsurface image” of targets within concrete or soil. Before any digging or breaking of the surface begins on any given project Ground Penetrating Radar can be used to mitigate risks by providing accurate location and orientation of subsurface targets.
